Curtis Ballantyne

Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, Credit Risk Management

Mr. Ballantyne leads the team responsible for direction and control of the Group-wide credit risk function and the Bank’s framework of credit policies and procedures. This involves maintaining a high quality loan portfolio and a credit structure and review process which supports the Bank's business development and relationship management efforts. Prior to joining Butterfield Bank in August 2002, Mr. Ballantyne held increasingly senior credit origination and adjudication positions at Scotiabank in the Cayman Islands and Toronto, Canada. Mr. Ballantyne holds a CFA designation and obtained his MBA from The Schulich School of Business. In 1997, he co-founded the Toronto Chapter of the Urban Financial Services Coalition, an industry group dedicated to promoting diversity in the financial services industry.
